
Majida Begum
Majida read English Literature at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge. She has since published her first short story in the anthology Into The Wilds by Fox & Windmill (2022). She has also published in the Financial Times, Amaliah and Gal-dem. Her freelance writing and research – found below – have focused on Muslim communities, education, social mobility, and sustainability.
At NCS – an award-winning sixth form in London, she led a borough and academy-wide social mobility strategy and Oxbridge provision. At the Smarty Train – an award-winning early careers development consultancy her research and thought leadership focused on the changing careers and skills gaps for young people in the lead-up to 2050 using futures thinking to prepare leading organisations for Net-Zero. Majida now works on international climate policy focused on global engagement, climate diplomacy and net-zero strategies for emerging developing economies. Majida continues to write on her blog theempoweredprole.com reaching over 20,000 viewers.
